MAKEUP REMOVAL

It is a norm that women like to look good and keep up appearances therefore, will strive to do anything to maintain a good image.
Makeup has become such a powerful tool and it's hard to find ladies that are not necessarily into makeup nowadays. It's a daily routine and somewhat like a drug to some of us.

This post is meant to show us how to take care of our skin as we use makeup. Not all makeup is good for the skin and by this I'm referring to mostly the different types of foundation that we use and maybe eye makeup.

The skin care routine step that most people take for granted is makeup removal. At times, you find that  it's too cold to actually wake up and wash your face especially during the rainy season.Sometimes it's that lit face beat that you still want to hold on to and wake up saying "I woke up like this...flawless 😆There are so many reasons why we tend to assume this crucial step.
The reasons why we should takeoff our makeup before bed include:

  • It clogs pores. This doesn't need much explanation. It actually increases your pores. Our skin needs to breathe at times and having foundation is a hindrance.
  • Skin renewal occurs at night and having makeup prevents this.
  • It can lead to acne or pimples.
  • Lipstick dries out our lips and not removing can lead to chapped lips.
  • It's one of the causes of skin ageing.
  • Leads to dry skin.
  • Having eye makeup on can cause irritation or possible eye infection .

There are several other reasons as to why we should not have our makeup on before sleep.Below is a small lazy routine that I normally follow ;

1.Eye makeup
I tackle this by using coconut oil .It's really gentle and effective .Dab some coconut oil on your cotton wool then apply.

coconut oil-It retails for Kshs.390 and is found in almost all retail shops .
C.B.C brand coconut oil  - This is a wonder product and I'll take about it on my next post.I got it from Mombasa through a friend. It retails for just Kshs.300

2.Lipstick
This is mostly when I have matte lipstick on as the other types are mostly really easy to get off.I use good old Vaseline to work this out or just coconut oil works as well.

3.Foundation
This is the most tiring phase, having to get off all that junk. The items I use depend on my "lazy "level.
1.Oriflame ecollagen topic cleanser
2.Eden Rose Water
3.Wet wipes
4.Dudu osun
I use the Oriflame and Eden mostly on nights I feel too lazy to wash my face. They work just perfectly and are very gentle. The orifalme topic cleanser is roughly Kshs.1500.I purchased it some while back ao its difficult to remember the actual price while the Eden cleanser is just Kshs.235.
I guess wet wipes are the good to go thing for most of us.It's less stressful and time efficient ☺.I know most of us can relate.
I use the  wipes plainly or sometimes I dab some cleanser then use it.I use Hanaan baby wipes because it's mild considering it's meant for babies and then the value for money factor. It retails for around Kshs.180.

Last but not least is my all time favourite Dudu osun soap.I know most of you will agree that soap and water is the best method hands down.Even if I use cleansers and wipes, I normally feel as if there's something missing out.Using soap is refreshing and actually cleans out everything effectively. This method is 100% while the other three are about 75%.However, it depends with what is available at that time and what you prefer so long as you don't sleep with makeup on!
